And the earth moved under my feet...

And thankfully the walls did not come tumbling down. The cats and I were sitting on the couch this evening watching a dvd of season 2 of Lost. The cats went flying and momentarily the entire house began to shake while I was chatting with a friend back in MN. The kitchen appliances on top of the cupboards were rattling, the pint glasses were chinking, and the pictures moving a bit all for about 15 seconds. There was a brief pause long enough for me to tell my friend we had an earthquake and it started again for another 15 to 30 seconds. It was strong enough to make me get a little nervous and goose bumped! Officially it was a 3.72 on the Richter scale and was about 15 miles from my house, 6 miles under ground. Insane!

I'm alive...

I've been around but so busy for the last few weeks. I was on call and got my butt kicked with 12 + hours of OT mostly in the middle of the night so my blog has been sorely neglected. Here is what I was doing on Thursday night though! I had a bull moose hanging in the back yard chewing on the bushes. I stood on the deck for a good 30 minutes watching and taking pictures. He didn't even really seem to care that we were there.

HNT...Thursday night jam

Os had a little post about album covers. This isn't the actual cover but it's the design on the box set with ALL the covers inside. Happy HNT!

It had to go somewhere...

All that ice that rolled out of here so fast had to go somewhere! The town of Eagle, Alaska was swept along with the ice chunks. Circle, AK is the next stop along the flow...wish them luck.

Break-up

I was forewarned spring can happen "overnight" in Alaska. I didn't really believe it. I think I'm starting to believe it. This picture is of a TELEPHONE POLE! That's the river flowing just below the power lines about 10 miles down the road south of Fairbanks. Impressive uh?

Remember this picture? That was of the Nenana Tripod last Saturday. Firmly sitting on the ice. Here is this week's progression...70 plus degree temps for three days in a row makes a big difference...
